DW-designed Onyx at Crown Canyon won the Honor Award-Residential during the Arizona Masonry Council’s annual awards night. The project was recognized for outstanding masonry design, workmanship and creativity.
The 33rd Annual Excellence in Masonry Architectural Awards took place Sept. 27, 2024, in Scottsdale to celebrate the most outstanding projects in Arizona for their use of brick, block and/or stone.
Onyx at Crown Canyon is located in a private gated community nestled in a box canyon in Paradise Valley, AZ, and will be home to 12 ultra-luxury private residences. Onyx is one of two Drewett Works-designed projects to be built there. In homage to Ralph Haver and Joseph Eichler’s mid-century modern architecture, C.P. Drewett approached the design of the contemporary home with the same respect for architectural simplicity as his predecessors, and the AMC took notice.
“The awards honor architects, engineers and the design community for their creativity and expression in masonry, and they recognize the builders and producers for their craftsmanship and innovation of masonry products,” says Dawn Rogers, executive director of the Arizona Masonry Council. “These notable awards represent a well-respected achievement among the design and building communities.”
