The newly published hardcover volume by Beth Benton Buckley brings together 20 residences that reflect the landscapes and architectural character of the Mountain West.
Released June 1, 2026, the 344-page volume brings together work by leading architects from across the region. Through striking photography and insightful commentary, it explores how residential architecture responds to the dramatic landscapes, from alpine peaks and high-desert plains to crystalline lakes.
Spanning 15 pages, the Drewett Works chapter highlights the ideas behind Skyfold and the firm’s approach to architecture as a collaboration among client, site, design team, art and science.
Designed by principal architect C.P. Drewett, Skyfold is located within Cameldale Estates, a collection of 11 contemporary residences conceived by Drewett.
The chapter also reflects on Drewett’s pursuit of clarity and precision, including the continued influence of architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Skyfold ultimately emerges as an expression of that philosophy: architecture reduced to its essential elements while remaining warm, tactile and deeply responsive to place.
